Yay, I have a fantastic holiday planned. Japanese cherry blossoms, trekking through the himalayas, visiting Bejing. It’s all there. I just can’t wait. I need a break, at LEAST every 6 months.
To get out of the daily grind and get some fresh air. In fact, I need it after 3 months, but I eek myself out a bit longer, so I can get more
Sounds familiar? All too familiar for me too, when I was in my London-high flying career.
You see, you can have lovely holidays, amazing experience, a nice flat, a good job title. You could have “done well for yourself” and you probably worked REALLY HARD for all of it. But if inside, you’re not happy. Is it worth it? Is paying the price of your happiness worth the holidays, the “stuff”?
You don’t have to answer to anyone but yourself.
And sometimes facing the hard truth of you’re just not happy anymore is hard.
It can feel like your admitting
So here are my 5 steps through the process:
- Accept reality as it is
It starts by accepting your current reality as it is. By doing that, you empower yourself with the full picture, not the part of you that’s plastering over the truth saying “it’ll be ok”, “it’s just a dark patch now”. The brave start by just accepting reality as it is.
- Take brave decisions
Empowered with the full picture you can then, and only then, make decisions and actions. Not to pretend its all ok and then to live in fear that you may discover the truth one day. Do you want to be thinking about the same things this time next year?
- Connect to what it is you’d really really love
Yay, remember… the things that make you feel inspired or all gooey inside? You’ve probably mainly forgotten about those as you try to stave off the unhappiness. But if you start to connect to what it is you’d really love, then this will help you to get you
makeinto inspiration again.
- Start to be grateful with the little things
Your home, your food, your loved ones, your precious moments, the best cup of tea, the yummiest slice of cake, the sun, the sea,
the nature. Count. All. Of. It. Do this, and your thoughts and feelings will change. And with that change of energy, things start to feel better.
- Take action steps now, no matter how small
It’s amazing how many of my clients start to feel better after just one session because they’ve started to take action. Even if they’re not going to leave their jobs right now or buy that dream house by the sun. They are taking action, steps towards that dream. And that shifts your energy like nobody’s business.
